The Alberta Coalition for Watershed Security is working to restore and protect Alberta’s watersheds through coordinated advocacy, capacity-building and long-term systems change.
The Coalition is guided by a broad network of organizations and experts contributing knowledge, experience, and strategic insight. Alberta Ecotrust Foundation steers this work, ensuring that the Coalition benefits from a strong foundation of expertise and collaboration as it grows.

Our Vision
A trusted coalition advancing watershed security in Alberta by aligning science, policy and people; amplifying shared efforts and unlocking lasting investment for future generations.
Our Mission
We bring together Alberta’s water and nature-based solutions community to unlock stronger long-term investments, effective policy and amplify collective action. We advance watershed security, climate resilience and a renewed relationship with water alongside land stewards, rights-holders and decision-makers.

Our Goals
Steered by Alberta Ecotrust Foundation, the Coalition is currently focused on two urgent and connected goals: renewing the Watershed Resiliency and Restoration Program (WRRP) funding and laying the groundwork for a sustainable, long-term water fund.
In doing so, we aim to build a legacy of healthy, resilient watersheds that can withstand the pressures of climate change and sustain Alberta’s communities, ecosystems and economies for generations to come.

About Our Logo
Water shapes everything in Alberta — our communities, our economies, and our natural landscapes. Our logo celebrates this interconnectedness through three droplets, representing people, land, and ecosystems; it also represents the intersection of science, policy and people. It illustrates water as a living system that moves through and links all aspects of life, reflecting the Coalition’s commitment to collaborative action and healthy, resilient watersheds.
